Belber is an American leather goods company that was established in 1891 when two school-age brothers, Aaron and Henry Belber, scraped together $200 to start making luggage in a South Philadelphia basement. The Belber brothers, aged just 14 and 17, worked 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, hand-stitching luggage. Their vision was to create elegant travel bags that were as stylish as they were functional. They recognized the growing demand for leather goods that were high quality, unique and practical but also fashionable. Among their many innovations were their state-of-the-art locking systems and the creation of the first matching luggage sets. This is how the Belber motto ‘As Modern as Tomorrow’ was born.
