That's how it started and also how the name came about. Robe du Jour. Founded in 2012 by a self-proclaimed black (fashion terms) lover during her college days in dreary-weathered Melbourne. Finding what she was studying a little austere, she picked up "la langue française" along the way just so one day she could use it during her travels. Little did she know, she picked up a little something different along the way. While uncovering her little interest for garment making, she discovered this fabric, which was found in winter clothing. Not knowing what it was, she did a little research and found out it was called "French Terry", a soft, lightweight, warm and cold climate friendly material, which has kept her warm and comfortable during those winter nights. An education turned into self-discovery, from self-discovery to a language, from a language into an interest, and from an interest now into a passion. She decided to name her journey "Robe du Jour" which imprints all the elements that created this brand.
